İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı

English Language and Literature studies the English language and its literary traditions, combining close reading of individual texts with broader study of literary history, theory, and criticism. Students typically examine poetry, drama, and prose fiction from a range of historical periods, alongside coursework in linguistics, grammar, and composition that strengthens both analytical reading and written expression. Literary theory is introduced to help students situate texts within their historical, social, and cultural contexts, while writing-intensive courses develop academic and creative composition skills together. In later years, students often specialize in particular periods, genres, or national literatures written in English, and many programs require a thesis or extended essay demonstrating independent literary analysis. Graduates commonly pursue careers in education, publishing, journalism, translation, and communications, with the strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills built through the degree applying broadly across professional fields, and some students continuing into graduate study in literature or linguistics. This bachelor program is taught in English over a duration of 4 years at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University, located in the city of Ağrı, Turkey. Full English-medium instruction immerses students in the language and literary works central to the discipline, supporting strong reading, writing, and oral communication skills over the course of the degree. Across the four years at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University, coursework progresses from foundational language and literary study toward specialized electives, with sustained writing and analytical work integrated throughout the program to build graduate-level competence in the field.
