İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı

English Language and Literature examines the history, structure, and cultural significance of English through the close study of literary texts and the language itself. Coursework typically covers British, American, and world literature written in English, literary theory and criticism, linguistics, and academic writing, with students analyzing poetry, drama, and fiction across different historical periods and cultural contexts. The program builds strong skills in critical reading, analytical writing, and oral communication, alongside deep familiarity with the English language in its literary and everyday forms. This bachelor program is offered by Erciyes University, a state institution located in Kayseri, Turkey, and is completed over 4 years of full-time study, with instruction in English. Students progress from foundational literature and language courses into more specialized seminars on particular periods, authors, or literary movements, often completing a thesis or extended research project in their final year. Graduates of English language and literature programs pursue a range of careers, including teaching, publishing, editing, journalism, and content or copywriting roles. The strong writing and analytical skills developed through the program also translate well into fields such as public relations, communications, and administration, where clear written and spoken English is valued. Many graduates continue into postgraduate study in literature, linguistics, translation, or education, while others apply their language expertise directly in international business, media, or cultural organizations that operate in English.
