İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı

This program in English Language and Literature is offered at Muş Alparslan University in Muş, Turkey, and is taught in English over 4 years. The discipline examines literary works written in English alongside the structure and history of the language itself, spanning periods from early English literature to contemporary writing. Students typically study poetry, drama, and prose fiction from British, American, and other English-language traditions, along with courses in linguistics, literary theory, and critical analysis. Coursework often includes close reading of canonical and contemporary texts, essay writing focused on argumentation and interpretation, and seminars comparing works across historical periods and cultural contexts. Language proficiency is developed continuously throughout the program, with attention to advanced grammar, academic writing, and oral communication, since the medium of instruction is English throughout the four years of study. Graduates commonly pursue careers in teaching, publishing, journalism, translation, and content or communications roles where strong written and analytical English skills are valued. Others continue into graduate study in literature, linguistics, or related humanities fields, or move into cultural and educational institutions that require English-language expertise. Located in Muş, in eastern Turkey, Muş Alparslan University delivers this program in English, supporting engagement with international scholarship and literature in its original language. Over the four years, students progress from foundational literary and linguistic concepts toward specialized study of particular authors, periods, or theoretical approaches.
