İngilizce Öğretmenliği

Tuition comes to 8,500 USD per year.

English language teaching prepares students to teach English as a foreign or second language, combining the study of English linguistics and literature with pedagogy and classroom practice. Coursework typically includes grammar and linguistics, second language acquisition theory, teaching methodology, curriculum design, and classroom management, along with practicum placements where students observe and practice teaching in real classrooms. The program is structured to build both strong command of the English language itself and the instructional skills needed to teach it effectively to learners at different levels. Graduates commonly work as English teachers in primary, secondary, or language institute settings, and some move into curriculum development, teacher training, or further graduate study in education or applied linguistics. This bachelor program is taught in English over 4 years at Bahçeşehir University in İstanbul, Turkey, an arrangement that suits a program centered on developing English proficiency alongside teaching skills. Students in this field typically progress from language and linguistics coursework toward more applied teaching methods courses and supervised teaching practice as they advance through the program. İstanbul's large network of schools and language institutes provides varied settings for practicum experience. Peer teaching, lesson planning, and classroom observation are common activities used to prepare students for the realities of language instruction.
