The MA programme in English Philology at the University of Opole, in Opole, Poland, is taught in English over 4 semesters, with yearly tuition of 5,000 PLN. Alongside developing practical language skills to a high C2 proficiency level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, students deepen their knowledge in one of several specialist seminars: Literary Studies, Cultural Studies, Linguistics, Translation Studies, or Applied Linguistics with a Teachers' Training specialization. Reaching C2, the highest CEFR level, means graduates finish the programme with near-native command of English across reading, writing, speaking, and listening, a foundation that supports advanced work in translation, teaching, publishing, or research. The choice among five specialist seminars lets students tailor the degree toward literary analysis, cultural studies, theoretical or applied linguistics, translation practice, or classroom teaching methodology, depending on career goals. Graduates of English philology programmes at this level commonly go on to work as translators, editors, teachers, or researchers, or continue into doctoral study in linguistics or literary studies. Opole is a city in southwestern Poland with an established university offering graduate humanities programmes in English for international students. Combined with the university's undergraduate English Philology track, the MA programme provides a complete pathway from bachelor's to master's level study in English language, literature, and culture, run mostly in English so students need not have prior Polish language skills to take part.
