Students also choose two optional modules (12 ECTS) from four neighbouring fields: applied environmental chemistry, applied ecology, geoecology, and socioeconomics and environmental management. In the second semester, an eight-week practical internship at an external research institute or industry partner in Germany or abroad provides applied experience (10 ECTS).
