About Master in Environmental Pollution Management – Ecotoxicology

Applications are due 15 Jun · 15 May.

The MSc in Environmental Pollution Management (Ecotoxicology) is an interdisciplinary programme combining environmental chemistry, toxicology, ecology, social sciences, and environmental economics. It focuses on the effects of chemicals on the environment, risk management concepts, ecological consequence prediction, and the regulatory, monitoring, statistical, and modelling dimensions of ecotoxicology. The programme runs over 4 semesters and totals 120 ECTS. Nine compulsory modules provide deep knowledge in ecotoxicology (56 ECTS). Students also choose two optional modules (12 ECTS) from four neighbouring fields: applied environmental chemistry, applied ecology, geoecology, and socioeconomics and environmental management. In the second semester, an eight-week practical internship at an external research institute or industry partner in Germany or abroad provides applied experience (10 ECTS). The third semester features a ten-week research project course conducted under university supervision (12 ECTS). The degree concludes with a six-month Master's thesis in the fourth semester (30 ECTS). The programme is taught at the Landau campus of RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau in Landau in der Pfalz.
