Farmacia provides a comprehensive scientific education in the properties, preparation, and therapeutic use of medicines, alongside the clinical and regulatory knowledge needed to practice as a pharmacist. Programs in this field cover organic and pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, physiology, microbiology, toxicology, pharmaceutical technology, and the legal framework governing medicines. Graduates work as community and hospital pharmacists, in pharmaceutical industry roles spanning research and development, regulatory affairs, and quality control, and in public health bodies. Pharmacy is both a health profession and a scientific discipline. Students develop laboratory competencies in drug synthesis and analysis alongside the patient-facing communication skills required for dispensing and counselling. The program includes extended clinical placements in community or hospital pharmacy settings as part of professional training requirements. This bachelor's degree runs for 5 years, reflecting the longer formation required by health profession regulation, with yearly tuition of 1,240.80 EUR. The program is located at Rey Juan Carlos University in Alcorcón, Spain.
