Bachelor in Forensic Science (with Foundation Year), BSc (Hons)

Tuition costs 17,325 GBP per year.

Accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, this programme offers a clear route into forensic and criminal investigation. It is aimed at students who have the ambition to work as forensic scientists or crime scene investigators but lack the standard qualifications for direct entry, so the foundation year provides the essential scientific grounding and hands-on laboratory experience in modern facilities such as the crime scene houses and analytical labs.

Graduates go on to roles in police forces, private forensic laboratories and research institutes, or continue to postgraduate study (MSc, MRes, PhD). An optional sandwich placement year allows students to gain industry experience, strengthening employability. The degree also develops transferable skills that are valued in a wide range of science-based careers across the UK and overseas.
