Stepping into a dedicated Blood Spatter Research Room or processing evidence in a simulated crime scene provides the bedrock for your development as a forensic scientist at the University of West London. This programme is designed for those who want to bridge the gap between biological and chemical theory and the high-stakes reality of criminal justice. By engaging with real-world case studies and mastering the latest investigative technologies, you will gain the technical proficiency required to work as an expert witness and forensic examiner.

Practical Forensic Specialisation

The curriculum is purposefully built around hands-on immersion. Rather than relying solely on traditional lectures, you will participate in simulated casework, crime scene reconstructions, and mock court-room presentations. This focus ensures that your scientific knowledge is always applied, whether you are conducting trace evidence analysis in our laboratories or learning the legal intricacies of the criminal justice system in England and Wales. The course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, signaling its alignment with industry standards and professional expectations.

This degree is ideal for students who thrive in practical environments and are motivated by the forensic investigative process. By the time you reach your final year, you will have moved beyond basic science into sophisticated areas like case assessment and interpretation, preparing you to transition directly into the graduate job market.
