    About Master in Forest Bioeconomy

At Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, tuition costs 310,000 SEK for the whole program, while the deadline to apply for the Aug 2027 intake is Jan 15, 2027.

This Master's programme is for students with a background in social or natural sciences who want to explore the role of forests in a circular bioeconomy, examining the forestry value chain from timber to finished products, combined with studies in business, economics and sustainability.

In the first year, students study the global forest sector, business studies (marketing and value chains), macroeconomics, and wood properties and innovation potential. In the second year, they study innovation management, forest policy and research methods, before completing a Master's thesis in Bioeconomy Management. Students may apply, in competition, to the TRANSFOR-M exchange programme for a second year at a Canadian partner university, leading to a possible double degree.

Graduates find opportunities in consulting firms, forest-based industrial companies, banks and insurance companies, government authorities, interest groups and certification companies.
