NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences provides a specialized pathway for educators looking to navigate the unique landscape of global secondary education. This programme focuses on equipping graduates with the pedagogical agility required to support learners within the private international school sector, where student populations are characterized by high mobility, diverse cultural backgrounds, and varying levels of language proficiency.

Graduates emerge prepared to act not just as subject-matter experts, but as facilitators who foster balanced, social, and academically driven individuals. Because the international school market—comprising over 13,000 institutions—is primarily privately funded, this degree is tailored specifically to those environments.

Professional Versatility

• International Teaching: Direct preparation for roles in private international secondary schools globally.
• Specialized Educational Roles: Opportunities as counsellors, special educational needs teachers, or programme coordinators.
• Bilingual Contexts: Eligibility for positions within bilingual educational systems.
• Post-Graduate Pathways: The degree serves as a foundation for further academic pursuit, including the Master’s in Learning & Innovation with a track in International Teacher Education.

For those aiming to teach in public school systems, the university offers a supplementary one-year programme to obtain a Dutch national teaching qualification, provided the candidate meets Dutch language proficiency requirements.
