Bachelor in Geodesy and cartography

Geodesy and Cartography is a bachelor's program at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, taught in English over three semesters, with yearly tuition of 8800 PLN. Delivered under the Geodesy and Geoinformatics track, the program provides candidates with knowledge and skills in geodesy and cartography, gradually developing their abilities across the field. The curriculum includes general and introductory courses that combine theoretical knowledge with practical instruction. Specialist courses shape the profile of the future surveyor, covering geodesy, cartography, photogrammetry and remote sensing, spatial information systems, and real estate management. Occupational training courses prepare graduates to perform specialist services in surveying, maintaining the real estate cadastre, numerical processing and presentation of survey results, satellite and remote sensing and photogrammetric measurements, determining and registering property ownership status, acquiring data for spatial information systems, and developing business, basic, topographic, and thematic maps, along with surveying services for investment projects. Facultative courses give students the freedom to individually plan part of their education. Every student completes vocational training in geodesy, cartography, photogrammetry, and cadastral measurements, and submits an engineer's degree thesis. On completing the relevant vocational training, graduates are entitled to apply for professional recognition in surveying-related work. Olsztyn, in the lake-rich Warmia-Mazury region of northeastern Poland, hosts the University of Warmia and Mazury, which trains geodesy and cartography specialists for roles spanning land surveying, mapping, real estate management, and geographic information systems across Poland's public and private sectors.
