The program is grounded in the theory and methodology of geographic information science. Students learn to apply GIS technology through hands-on practice and field experience. They gain skills in spatial data analysis, mapping, and geospatial software use. Graduates work with industry partners on real-world projects.

Focus areas include Drone data acquisition, GPS, GIS process automation, GIS analysis, Web mapping, Remote sensing.

One-year full-time program with hands-on learning, field experience, and an applied research project with an industry partner.

Graduates work as GIS mapping technicians, GIS specialists, cartographers, GPS operators, data analysts, or remote sensing analysts.

Grade 12 with minimum 65% in a 30-level English Language Arts course and minimum 60% in Workplace and Apprenticeship Math 30, Foundations of Math 30, or Pre-Calculus 30. Alternative admission available using ACCUPLACER© scores or post-secondary credits. English language requirement applies.
