Bachelor in Geological Engineering

Geological Engineering studies the earth's materials and processes as they relate to engineering projects, covering mineralogy, structural geology, hydrogeology, and engineering geology. Students learn to assess ground conditions for construction, mining, and water resource projects, working through fieldwork and laboratory analysis of rock and soil samples alongside coursework in geotechnical principles. The program combines geological science with applied engineering methods used in site investigation and resource assessment. Graduates pursue careers in mining, construction, environmental consulting, groundwater management, and government geological surveys, as well as further graduate study in geological or geotechnical engineering. The program is offered in English at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, over a duration of 4 years.
