Bachelor in Graphic Design Foundation Year

Tuition comes to 16,500 GBP per year, and the application deadline for Bachelor in Graphic Design Foundation Year is Aug 31, 2027.

Graduates from the Graphic Design pathway at the University of West London frequently transition into successful careers within branding, motion graphics, editorial design, and digital media, with alumni securing roles at major organizations like the BBC. This four-year extended degree, which includes an initial foundation year, is meticulously crafted for students who require a bridge into higher education. Whether you are returning to academic life after a break, lack a formal design background, or are an international student seeking to bolster your English language proficiency while acclimating to the UK creative sector, this programme provides a supportive, experiential learning environment.

Integrated Skill Development

The foundation year acts as a dedicated incubator for your creative and professional identity. Rather than jumping straight into complex theory, you will explore the landscape of media and design through hands-on modules that build both your technical software toolkit—covering industry-standard Adobe creative suites—and your academic confidence. You will work alongside peers in a collaborative studio culture, gaining access to the same high-end facilities and professional networks as undergraduate students. This phase is designed to remove barriers to entry, ensuring that when you progress to the full BA (Hons) degree, you possess the critical research skills, time management habits, and visual literacy necessary to excel in the competitive global design industry.
