Bachelor in Guy Gunstone

At University of Plymouth, tuition comes to 17,500 GBP per year; the deadline to apply for the Sep 2027 intake is Aug 31, 2027.

A hallmark of this programme is the intensive 'set construction project,' a four-week collaborative endeavour where students conceptualise, build, light, and photograph elaborate sets from scratch. This practical focus is supported by a rare daylight studio, providing students with professional-grade facilities that are seldom found in other undergraduate photography courses.

Students enjoy significant creative autonomy, avoiding being funnelled into a single aesthetic or medium. Whether your interests lie in fashion, landscape, or experimental lens-based practice, the course structure encourages individual exploration. The programme is further distinguished by its integration with the Peninsula Arts Gallery, which provides an on-campus hub for students to pursue internships in curating and marketing.

Industry Integration

The course maintains a vibrant professional culture, highlighted by a weekly lecture series featuring globally acclaimed figures such as Martin Parr, Ron Jude, and industry leaders from publications like GQ UK and Mack Books. These sessions, combined with the faculty's extensive professional network, ensure that students are not just studying photography, but are actively connecting with the industry through work experience placements and career-building opportunities.

The university provides pre‑arrival guidance, English language support and dedicated international student teams to ease transition and help with accommodation, visas and wellbeing. Teaching approaches combine lectures, labs and applied projects, while research-active staff bring real-world problems into the classroom.
