Ontario College Diploma

At St. Clair College, tuition is CAD 19,052 per year.

This programme prepares individuals to work as licensed hairstylists in salons, spas, or as self-employed professionals. Skills taught include advanced cutting, coloring, perming, and styling for men and women. Training takes place in clinical and lab settings with hands-on practice. Students also learn client service, health and safety, and business operations. After finishing, candidates can apply for the Certificate of Qualification exam once they meet the Ministry's required hours.

Courses cover hair cutting, chemical treatments, coloring, styling, and hair additions. The programme spans three semesters focused on practical skills. Each semester builds on the previous one, starting with basic techniques and moving to advanced work. Elective courses are included to expand knowledge. Industry field trips and community events offer exposure to real-world environments.

The programme begins in September and lasts less than one year. It is available at the Main Windsor Campus. Applicants must have an OSSD with most courses at the College, University, or Open level. Mature students should review the Admission Procedures document. The programme is closed, so no new students are being accepted.
