Work directly with heavy machinery used in construction, energy, and transportation. The program trains to maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel engines, tracked vehicles, hydraulics, and powertrain systems. Gain hands-on experience through a paid apprenticeship while completing classroom instruction each year.

Each year includes eight weeks of in-person classes and at least 1,560 hours of on-the-job training. Follow technical manuals, safety standards, and schematics while diagnosing and fixing equipment. Training uses digital tools and electronic systems common in modern machines.

To complete the program, finish all four periods and meet milestones within 18 months. In the final period, take the Interprovincial Red Seal Exam. Passing this exam gives a Journeyperson Certificate and an Advanced Diploma, allowing work across Canada.
