HNC Civil Engineering Studies

The tuition fee is 17,600 GBP per year.

The HNC Civil Engineering Studies runs for one academic year if studied full-time, or two years on a part-time timetable. The first stage introduces core principles of structural analysis, materials and construction methods, while the later stage builds on this with advanced surveying, site management and project-based modules.

It is aimed at learners who have achieved A-levels at grades C/D, a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (grades MMP) or a BTEC Level 3 Diploma (grades MM), and who wish to gain a solid grounding in civil engineering practice before entering the workforce or progressing to a bachelor's degree.

Study takes place on the Springfield Campus where students benefit from industrial laboratories that contain a full set of tools, virtual and augmented-reality facilities and close links with local engineering firms that provide placement and project work.
