Bachelor in Hnc Civil Engineering

At University of Plymouth, tuition fees are 17,800 GBP per year.

Infrastructure development relies on the ability to translate abstract mathematical principles and material science into the physical structures that define our built environment. This Higher National Certificate (HNC) programme offers a focused, practical entry point into the discipline of civil engineering, bridging the gap between theoretical engineering concepts and the technical realities of modern construction sites.

Delivered at City College Plymouth in partnership with the University of Plymouth, the course caters to students who thrive in smaller learning environments where personal tuition and industry-relevant skills take centre stage. It is designed for those seeking a foundational qualification that balances rigorous academic study with the hands-on attributes required by employers in the sector.

A Partnership-Driven Approach

By studying within the University of Plymouth’s academic partnership network, students benefit from a dual-institution experience: the close-knit, supportive atmosphere of a specialist college combined with the resources and academic oversight of a major university. This curriculum is specifically engineered to prepare graduates for progression onto higher-level qualifications, such as Foundation Degrees, ensuring a clear pathway for professional development.
