This Higher National Certificate (HNC) programme offers a practical, career-focused entry into the critical field of cyber security, delivered within the innovative environment of the South West Institute of Technology at Truro and Penwith College. Students benefit from a curriculum that bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world industrial application, ensuring graduates are equipped with the technical proficiency required by modern employers.

Distinctive to this programme is its emphasis on work practice case studies and behavioral analytics. Students do not simply study security in the abstract; they engage with the direct challenges of network administration, system compliance, and security profiling. By operating within a supportive, close-knit college community while holding the status of a University of Plymouth student, participants enjoy the best of both worlds: personalized instruction and access to the extensive resources and academic standards of a major university.

Why study here?

• Direct application of cyber security concepts to professional case studies.
• Hands-on training in server administration and LAN environment security.
• Integration of behavioral analytics to identify and mitigate computing threats.
• Pathway options for those looking to advance into further degree-level study.
