Industrial Engineering is concerned with making complex systems of people, equipment, materials, and information work efficiently, primarily within manufacturing and service settings. Coursework typically covers operations research, statistics, production and inventory planning, quality control and management, supply chain and logistics, facility design, ergonomics, and simulation, built on a foundation of engineering mathematics and basic sciences. Students develop skills in applying quantitative and analytical methods to practical problems such as scheduling production, managing inventory, and reducing waste in operational processes, often through coursework grounded in lean manufacturing and quality management principles. Because industrial engineering looks at organizations as integrated systems, the curriculum commonly includes management-oriented subjects such as project management, cost analysis, and organizational behavior alongside technical engineering courses. Team-based and project-based assignments are typical, giving students practice applying industrial engineering methods to case studies or real operational scenarios. Career paths for graduates include manufacturing and production engineering, supply chain and logistics management, quality assurance, process improvement, and operations management roles across sectors ranging from manufacturing to healthcare and services. This bachelor's program is taught in English over 4 years at Antalya Bilim University, in Antalya, Turkey. Studying in English gives students direct access to the primarily English-language body of research and methodology that underpins operations research and industrial engineering practice worldwide. The four-year program moves from mathematical and engineering fundamentals toward applied production, quality, and systems-focused coursework.
