Üsküdar University

Bachelor in Industrial Engineering

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Industrial Engineering focuses on designing and improving complex systems that combine people, equipment, materials, and information, most often within manufacturing and service organizations. Coursework typically includes operations research, production planning, quality management, supply chain and logistics, facility layout, ergonomics, statistics, and simulation modeling, built on foundational mathematics and engineering science. Students learn to apply analytical and optimization methods to practical operational problems, such as scheduling, inventory management, and process improvement, often supported by coursework in lean manufacturing and quality management systems. Since the field treats organizations as integrated systems rather than isolated components, coursework commonly overlaps with management subjects such as project management, cost analysis, and organizational behavior. Project-based and team assignments are typical, giving students experience applying industrial engineering tools to realistic operational scenarios drawn from manufacturing or service settings. Graduates typically work in manufacturing and production engineering, supply chain and logistics management, quality assurance, and process improvement roles, and some progress into operations management or consulting positions across a range of industries. This bachelor's program is delivered in English over 4 years at Üsküdar University, located in İstanbul, Turkey. English-medium instruction gives students access to the largely English-language methodology and research literature that underpins operations research and industrial engineering practice internationally. Over the four years, the curriculum builds from mathematics and engineering fundamentals toward applied production, quality, and systems-oriented coursework.
