Journeyperson Certificate + Advanced Diploma

At Keyano College, tuition is CAD 2,881 per term.

This programme prepares students to become certified industrial mechanics, also known as millwrights. You will learn to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery in real-world settings across industries like manufacturing, mining, power generation, and oil and gas. The training includes working with pumps, conveyors, compressors, turbines, and alignment systems using precision tools and technical drawings.

The programme runs over four years and combines in-person classroom instruction with paid on-the-job training. Each year includes eight weeks of in-class training and a minimum of 1,560 hours of workplace learning. Progress is tracked through milestones, and apprentices may challenge the Interprovincial Red Seal Exam in the final period to qualify for national certification.

Graduates earn a Journeyperson Certificate and an Advanced Diploma. They are qualified for roles such as plant maintenance technician, equipment repair specialist, or machinery supervisor. To complete the programme, you must secure a sponsor employer who provides on-the-job training. No prior experience is required to start.
