Bachelor in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Interior Architecture and Environmental Design focuses on the planning and design of interior spaces, covering spatial design, materials, lighting, furniture design, and building systems, alongside the broader relationship between interior spaces and their surrounding environment. Students learn design principles through studio-based coursework, developing skills in drafting, model-making, and increasingly digital design tools to represent and test spatial concepts. Coursework often addresses topics such as sustainability, accessibility, and the functional and aesthetic needs of residential, commercial, and public interiors. Studio critiques and design projects are central to how students develop and refine their design thinking. Graduates pursue careers as interior architects and designers, environmental designers, and consultants in residential, commercial, and hospitality design, along with further study in architecture or design fields. This bachelor program runs 4 years and is taught in English at Altınbaş University in İstanbul, Turkey, giving international students an English-medium design education within a city known for a wide range of architectural traditions. The program combines creative design studio work with technical knowledge of materials and building systems relevant to interior environments.
