The Master of Science in International Information Systems is a four-semester programme focused on managing information systems in international business contexts. It is designed for students with an interest in information technology and its role in business environments, regardless of their undergraduate academic field. The first semester opens with a tailored introduction: students from management or business backgrounds take an Informatics Introduction, while those from IT backgrounds take a Management Introduction, ensuring a common foundation before the core curriculum. The second and third semesters cover interdisciplinary content across information systems and informatics, drawing from three elective tracks: Data and Knowledge, Digital Business, and Architectures and Development. The third semester also includes seminars addressing real international business challenges and prepares students for the Master's thesis through a structured research project. The fourth semester is reserved for the thesis, completed in cooperation with an international company or academic partner. A semester abroad is strongly encouraged and is compulsory for students whose high school and undergraduate degrees were both obtained in countries where German is an official language. The programme starts each winter semester in October. It is offered at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg in Nürnberg, Germany.
