Bachelor in International Studies

The Bachelor in International Studies at Leiden University is a 3-year program for students interested in globalisation and its impact on various regions. This program allows students to specialize in one of eight world regions and learn a key language associated with that region.

The curriculum covers topics like culture, history, politics, and economics, with a multidisciplinary approach that helps students analyze global issues from various angles. In the third year, students participate in the Practising International Studies consultancy course, working on real-world challenges presented by organizations like the UN and Dutch ministries.

Graduates can pursue careers as International Relations Specialist, Policy Analyst, Cultural Attaché, and Development Consultant. They can work for governmental agencies, NGOs, or multinational corporations, using the skills they acquired in this program to succeed in their chosen career path.
