The Language Science and Technology programme leads to a Master of Science (MSc) degree and combines computational linguistics, machine translation, speech science and technology, computational psycholinguistics, and related areas of linguistics and informatics. Students build on a foundation in computational linguistics or a closely related subject and progress through core and foundations lectures, advanced seminars, a compulsory Master's seminar, and a Master's thesis. The programme also requires coursework in informatics or cognitive psychology. Running over 4 semesters and starting in the winter semester, the programme has been offered at Saarland University since October 2004. Faculty and students come from many countries, and the programme combines basic, applied and cognitive research. The programme is based at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany.
