Master in International Master's Programme in Physics

Tuition is No tuition fees; 350 EUR/semester, while the application deadline is 15 Jun · 15 Jan.

The Physics Master's programme at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is structured around the department's main research topics: soft matter physics, solid state physics and nanophysics, quantum optics and quantum information, plasma physics, and medical physics and biophysics. Each student selects two of these as focus areas, and each focus area includes both an experimental and a theoretical module. Additional modules in areas such as laser physics, astrophysics, computational physics and advanced quantum mechanics are offered regularly. The programme runs over 4 semesters, with entry possible in both the winter and summer semester. The first year emphasises lectures combined with exercise classes in the two chosen focus areas, plus four elective physics modules. The second year shifts to seminars, practical courses and research work, with the second half devoted to thesis research in the student's chosen specialisation. The programme is offered at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf, Germany.
