The Bachelor's programme in International Relations at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University in Poland runs for six semesters, taught in English, with an annual tuition fee of 5000 PLN. The programme focuses on the systematic study of international politics and institutions, along with the conduct of diplomacy and foreign policy, through a mix of required and elective courses. Subjects illustrative of the programme's breadth include World Order in Historical Perspective, Culture and Civilization in the Modern World, History of Diplomacy, Diplomatic Practice, Cultural Diplomacy, Violence and Terror in International Relations, International Politics, and Western Political Thought, among others. The core curriculum is designed to prepare students for a wide array of career opportunities, giving them access to faculty with experience in international politics and diplomacy and building the knowledge and skills needed to work within a complex global order. The programme places particular emphasis on both the theory and the practice of cultural diplomacy, aiming to give students a deeper understanding of this developing field. Graduates of the programme are intended to be well positioned in political and diplomatic settings relative to peers who complete only a general degree in international relations. More broadly, international relations as a field of study combines political science, economics, law and history to analyze how states, institutions and non-state actors interact, and graduates commonly move into careers in diplomacy, international organizations, trade, journalism, and public administration, or continue toward master's-level study.
