International Security is a master's degree specialization at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland, running for two years across four semesters, taught in English, with an annual tuition fee of 7700 PLN. The programme, titled International Security Studies, is designed to train future leaders in security who can respond to changing security challenges in an interconnected world, and is implemented under the auspices of the Terrorism Research Center at Collegium Civitas. It draws on Poland's geopolitical position: a member of both the European Union and NATO that has undergone substantial economic and socio-political transformation since 1989, with a history that the programme presents as important to understanding global politics, especially in the context of security. Alongside regular classes, participants attend meetings with security experts, practitioners and witnesses to history, particularly relating to the Second World War, and visit historic sites and museums such as the Museum of the Warsaw Uprising. Coursework covers aspects of security including terrorism, cybersecurity, war and peace, transnational crime, hybrid threats, media, environment, conflict resolution, and intelligence, examined across regions including the United States, Russia, the European Union, Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East, with attention also given to Pacific security issues. Students have the opportunity to study languages including Russian and Indonesian. As with security studies generally, graduates typically pursue careers in government, defence, intelligence, international organizations, or research.
