Introduction AHK (guest) lecturers

This program is designed for all AHK (guest) teachers, regardless of their teaching experience. It consists of an introduction day held several times a year, focusing on the role of the teacher in higher art education. Participants will learn about the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) and engage with fellow educators from various academies. This module is part of the Basic Teaching Qualification (BTQ) and is mandatory for lecturers with an appointment of 0.4 FTE or more.

During the introduction day, key aspects relevant to teaching at AHK will be discussed, including creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, the six steps of a lesson, and effective feedback and evaluation methods. Practical matters such as the organization of AHK and development opportunities for teachers will also be covered. Participants are encouraged to bring their own questions, ensuring a tailored experience.

Graduates of this program can pursue various teaching roles within the arts sector, including positions as art educators, curriculum developers, and educational coordinators. They may find employment in institutions such as art academies, cultural organizations, and educational programs. The skills gained from this training are transferable across various educational contexts, enhancing their teaching effectiveness and adaptability.
