Bachelor in Licence - Arts plastiques

Tuition comes to 178 EUR per year.

Visual arts — known in French as arts plastiques — encompass the practice and theory of fine arts including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and other plastic and visual forms. The Licence in Arts plastiques at Université Toulouse 2 Jean Jaurès in Toulouse, France is a bachelor-level programme that balances practical studio work with critical and theoretical study. Students typically engage with art history, aesthetics, and the theory of forms alongside hands-on practice in a range of media. Written and oral analysis of works — their contexts, intentions, and reception — is a significant part of the curriculum. The programme encourages students to develop a personal artistic voice while grounding their practice in the broader history of art and its critical traditions. The degree takes 3 years and begins in September. All instruction is in French, and annual tuition is 178 EUR. Graduates work as practicing artists, arts educators (at secondary and higher education levels), cultural project managers, arts journalists, curators, gallery assistants, and in a wide range of roles in the cultural sector. Many continue to master's-level study in visual arts, curatorial practice, or art education. The programme sits within a university with a strong humanities profile and is located in Toulouse, a city with an active arts and cultural scene.
