Bachelor in Licence - Histoire

At Université de Strasbourg, tuition fees are 178 EUR per year.

The Licence - Histoire (Bachelor in History) at the Université de Strasbourg is a three-year bachelor-level program delivered in French on the Strasbourg campus in France. History as a discipline examines human societies and events across time, from ancient civilisations through to contemporary politics, economies, and cultures. Students typically engage with primary source analysis, historiography, archival methods, and comparative regional studies, developing strong skills in critical thinking, written argument, and contextual research. Thematic areas often covered include political history, social and cultural movements, the history of ideas, colonial and postcolonial histories, and the history of Europe in its international context — a dimension particularly relevant at Strasbourg, a city at the crossroads of French and German heritage. Graduates go on to careers in education, heritage and museum work, journalism, public administration, documentary research, and a broad range of positions that value analytical writing and historical reasoning. Many continue to master-level or doctoral studies. The program begins in September and runs for 3 years. Tuition stands at 178 EUR per year, and all instruction is conducted in French.
