Bachelor in Licence - Histoire

At Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, the tuition fee is 178 EUR per year.

The Licence Histoire is a three-year degree that develops students' understanding of the past through the critical analysis of primary sources, historiographical debates, and historical methodology. The curriculum covers a broad chronological range — from ancient and medieval to modern and contemporary history — and typically addresses European history alongside thematic courses on global history, colonial and postcolonial studies, economic history, and the history of ideas. Students are trained to construct arguments from evidence, situate events in their broader contexts, and write clearly about complex causal processes. At Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne in Paris, France, this bachelor-level program runs for three years in French, starting in September, at 178 EUR per year. History graduates enter fields including education, journalism, archival work, cultural heritage, public policy, and the civil service. Many continue to a Master's in history, international relations, political science, or education. The degree's emphasis on research, source criticism, and analytical writing equips graduates for any career that requires rigorous reasoning from evidence.
