Bachelor in Licence - Mathématiques

The tuition fee is 178 EUR per year.

Mathematics — Mathématiques — is a foundational scientific discipline that develops rigorous reasoning, abstraction, and problem-solving capacity. A Licence in mathematics covers analysis, algebra, geometry, probability, statistics, and, at many institutions, introductory courses in numerical methods and computer programming. Students learn to construct and verify proofs, handle abstract structures, and apply mathematical tools to model real-world phenomena. The programme progressively builds from the formal foundations of mathematics through increasingly advanced topics. This 3-year bachelor degree is offered at La Rochelle Université in La Rochelle, France, starting in September. All teaching is in French. Annual tuition is 178 EUR. Mathematics graduates are in demand across a wide range of sectors. Common career directions include actuarial science, data analysis, finance, engineering support, scientific research, and teaching. Many graduates pursue a master's degree in pure or applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, or financial mathematics before entering the job market. The combination of analytical rigour and problem-solving flexibility that the degree develops is valued in any industry that works with quantitative data or complex systems. La Rochelle Université's science faculty provides the academic environment for mathematics study, and the city's manageable size gives students a focused context for sustained quantitative work at degree level.
