Applied and Computational Mathematics Minor

At The American College of Greece, the tuition fee is 13,000 EUR per year, and applications for the Sep 2027 intake are due by Aug 31, 2027.

Bridging the gap between abstract theory and real-world problem solving, the Minor in Applied and Computational Mathematics equips students with the quantitative toolkit necessary to model complex phenomena across diverse scientific and economic fields. By focusing on the intersection of mathematical analysis and algorithmic implementation, this programme is tailored for undergraduates who wish to augment their primary field of study—be it computer science, finance, or the natural sciences—with advanced analytical capabilities.

Core Quantitative Competencies

Students engage with the practical application of mathematical principles, moving beyond textbook proofs to explore:

• Numerical analysis techniques for solving complex equations.
• Computational methods for data-driven decision making.
• Mathematical modelling of dynamic systems found in biology, physics, and social sciences.
• The use of modern software environments to simulate and test theoretical hypotheses.

This minor is particularly well-suited for students aiming for careers in data science, quantitative research, or engineering, where the ability to translate conceptual problems into computable, solution-oriented frameworks is increasingly essential. By fostering a rigorous approach to logical deduction and computational efficiency, the programme ensures graduates are prepared to tackle the analytical challenges presented by contemporary technology and research environments.
