Bachelor in Licence - Philosophie

Tuition fees for Bachelor in Licence - Philosophie are 178 EUR per year.

The Licence - Philosophie (Philosophy) is a three-year bachelor's degree at Sorbonne université in Paris, France, starting in September. Philosophy degrees engage students with the foundational questions of human existence, knowledge, ethics, politics and logic through sustained encounter with the texts of major thinkers from antiquity to the present day. Coursework spans the history of philosophy — from ancient Greece and the Stoics through medieval scholasticism, modern rationalism and empiricism, Kant, Hegel and the continental and analytic traditions of the twentieth century — alongside systematic modules in ethics, epistemology, metaphysics and political philosophy. Students develop skills in close reading, logical analysis, written argument and philosophical debate. Instruction is in French and tuition is 178 EUR per year. Three years of philosophical training build capacities for rigorous thinking and clear expression that are valued across many fields. Graduates enter careers in teaching, publishing, journalism, public administration, law, and cultural or civic organisations, and many continue to master's and doctoral study in philosophy, cognitive science, ethics, political theory, or related disciplines.
