Licence Sciences pour la Santé teaches students in the UE8 SCIENCES MEDICALES APPLIQUEES module, drawing on the University's longstanding expertise in health sciences and its proximity to major medical and research institutions of Saint-Etienne and Lyon.

This bachelor's programme covers fundamental and applied sciences of health, providing a solid scientific foundation and technical skills in biology, physiology, and health engineering. The curriculum is structured in three main areas: health sciences, transversal tools, and specialisation in either engineering or prevention. The degree offers two distinct pathways, tailored to students who want to pursue careers in health science or health engineering, with a focus on practical applications and professional development.

Students gain hands-on experience through a mandatory two-month internship in L3, preparing them for roles in health and social care settings, pharmaceuticals, and medical device companies, as well as in research and regulatory affairs. The degree also serves as a gateway to various master's programs, including those in health engineering, public health, and biology, both within the university and across France.
