Master in MA Architecture & Spatial Practices

Berlin, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The MA in Architecture and Spatial Practices at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences is an English-language programme built around cross-cultural perspectives in architecture and spatial design. The curriculum takes a generalist approach, combining theoretical inquiry with practical applications in studio work, seminars, lectures, and research projects. The programme is available in two formats depending on the applicant's undergraduate degree: a two-year format for applicants with a three-year undergraduate degree in Architecture, and a one-year format for applicants with a four-year undergraduate degree. In the two-year format, the first year develops fundamental skills in design, construction, and research. In the final year, students select a specialisation track from Urban and Social Practice, Material and Resilience Practice, or Critical and Curatorial Practice, which shapes the Master's thesis and design project. The programme opens in the winter semester and is based at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
