Bridging the gap between intensive training and the professional dance industry, mapdance serves as an immersive performance company for postgraduate students. The programme is built around the experience of a touring company, where students transition from dancers in training to professional artists, engaging with a rigorous repertoire and high-level performance demands.

The Touring Experience

At the heart of the programme is a national and international touring schedule. Students work with established and emerging choreographers to create a diverse programme of dance, which is then performed in professional venues across the UK and beyond. This structure provides a unique, real-world context for developing technical versatility, collaborative skills, and the endurance required for a sustainable career in contemporary performance.

The curriculum emphasizes the synthesis of artistic practice and analytical reflection, ensuring that graduates not only excel as performers but also possess the critical thinking skills to navigate the evolving landscape of contemporary dance.
