Master in Management and Information Technology (MIT)

The MSc in Management and Information Technology (MIT) at the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau is a double degree programme that connects management, business information systems, and applied computer science. It is designed for students who see value in crossing disciplinary boundaries: managers who need to work with programming and ERP systems, and computer scientists who need business and managerial knowledge. The programme is delivered through an international consortium that currently includes the International Black Sea University in Tbilisi, Kazakh-American Free University in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Armenian State University of Economics in Yerevan, and the Kyrgyz-German Institute of Applied Informatics in Bishkek. All students must spend at least one semester abroad at a consortium partner university and will receive a degree from both Zwickau and the partner institution. The programme spans four semesters, starting in the winter semester. The first semester builds a common knowledge base in scientific and intercultural skills, programming, risk management, management control, and business information systems. The second semester focuses on machine learning, business analytics, and financial management, with electives in areas such as AI, data mining, digital business models, and project management. The third semester is the mandatory semester abroad, covering strategic management, digital business modelling, and software systems. The fourth semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis and includes expert practitioner talks. The programme suits students with intercultural interests who want to pursue international careers in management, IT, or software engineering. It is offered at the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau in Zwickau, Germany.
