The MSc in Management and Data Science at Leuphana University Lüneburg trains students to analyse large and complex data sets and build statistical models by integrating knowledge across management, data analysis, and information systems. The programme responds to the growing demand for specialists who can handle the data-intensive complexity of modern business environments in ways that go beyond traditional management methods alone. Study runs over four semesters, starting in the winter semester. The first semester builds a foundation in mathematics, data analysis tools, and data economics. The second semester moves into topics such as storage and mining of massive datasets, probabilistic modelling, network analysis, forecasting, and simulation. In the third semester, students undertake a research project — typically in small teams and often in cooperation with companies — applying scientific methods to data-intensive problems. Data privacy and ethics are also covered in this semester, alongside elective modules for further specialisation. The fourth semester is dedicated to the Master's dissertation. The programme is offered without tuition fees and sits within the Graduate School at Leuphana University Lüneburg in Lüneburg, Germany.
