Master Creation Litteraire — Ecopoétique et création

Tuition fees for Master Creation Litteraire — Ecopoétique et création are 250 EUR per year.

Creation Litteraire, specializing in Ecopoétique et création, is a master's programme in creative writing at Aix-Marseille Université that connects literary practice with ecological thought. Creative writing as a discipline trains students in the craft of literary composition -- poetry, fiction, narrative and other forms -- combined with the study of literary theory, close reading and critical reflection on the writing process. The ecopoetics specialization directs that practice toward questions of nature, environment and the more-than-human world, exploring how literature represents landscapes, ecological crisis and the relationship between humans and their environment, and how writers have developed forms and language to address these themes. Coursework typically combines writing workshops, in which students develop and workshop their own texts, with seminars on literary theory, ecocriticism and the history of nature writing and environmental literature. Students are usually expected to produce a substantial creative or hybrid creative-critical project as part of their degree, developing both their own voice and their critical understanding of the field. Graduates pursue careers as writers, editors, literary critics, cultural project coordinators, or continue into doctoral research in creative writing or literary studies, with some working specifically within environmental or nature-focused publishing and cultural organizations. The programme is based in Aix-En-Provence, France, and runs over two years, leading to a master's degree with an intake in September. Instruction is delivered in French and yearly tuition is 250 EUR.
