Master Informatique — Architecte des données

Tuition is 250 EUR per year.

La Rochelle Université offers this Master Informatique, specializing in Architecte des données (data architect), at its Niort site in France. Data architecture, within the field of computer science, focuses on designing the overall structure and organization of an institution's data assets, including how databases, data warehouses, and data flows are structured to support reliable and efficient access across an organization. Master's programs with this specialization typically train students in database design, data modeling, data warehousing, and the governance frameworks that determine how data is stored, secured, and shared within a company or public institution. Students commonly study relational and non-relational database systems, techniques for integrating data from multiple sources, and the standards and documentation practices needed to keep large data architectures maintainable over time. Coursework often extends into related areas such as cloud computing, information systems management, and data security, reflecting the fact that data architects work closely with both technical teams and organizational stakeholders. Practical projects, frequently conducted in teams, give students experience translating business or institutional needs into a coherent data architecture, while an internship or applied project component connects the training to real organizational contexts. Graduates typically pursue careers as data architects, database administrators, or information systems consultants, often in sectors that manage large volumes of structured data such as finance, insurance, or the public sector. The program runs for two years, has an inferred September start, and is delivered in French, with yearly tuition set at 250 EUR.
