Master Informatique — M1 Data Science (PR1061)

At Université Paris-Saclay, tuition is 250 EUR per year.

In Gif Sur Yvette, France, Université Paris-Saclay offers the Master Informatique — M1 Data Science program, a track within computer science oriented toward extracting insight from data. Data science draws on statistics, machine learning, and computer programming to analyze structured and unstructured datasets and support decision-making. Typical subjects include statistical inference, predictive modeling, data visualization, database querying, and programming languages commonly used for data analysis, alongside an introduction to the mathematical foundations that underpin these methods, such as probability and linear algebra. Students also generally practice working with real datasets, learning to clean, process, and interpret data before applying analytical models to it. Graduates of data science programs pursue roles including data analyst, data scientist, business intelligence specialist, and research analyst across a wide range of sectors, from finance and marketing to healthcare and the public sector, wherever organizations need to interpret data to guide strategy or operations. The demand for data-literate professionals spans both technical and business-facing positions, and some graduates go on to specialize further in machine learning engineering or applied research, depending on the balance of theory and application in their training. This is a two-year master's program with studies beginning in September, delivered in French, and carrying a yearly tuition of 250 EUR. As with other specialized computer science tracks, applicants are encouraged to confirm admission requirements directly with Université Paris-Saclay, since data science programs of this kind often draw candidates from varied academic backgrounds with differing prerequisites.
