Master of Engineering, Autonomous Shipping Management

Kotka, Finland Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Master's Degree Programme in Autonomous Shipping Management is designed for maritime professionals — Master Mariners, Marine Engineers, and Shipbuilding Engineers — who want to position themselves at the forefront of autonomous maritime operations. The programme prepares students to plan, conduct, and lead autonomous shipping within shipowner organisations and maritime administrations. Study topics include maritime sustainable economics, international treaties, risk management, chartering, and environmental legislation, all framed around the changing maritime environment and the supply chains of autonomous shipping. Students engage with the field as its operational practices are being actively developed, informed by the IMO MASS Code as a goal-based instrument for the industry. The programme starts in September 2026 and runs over two years. It is offered at Novia University of Applied Sciences in Turku, Finland.
