Master of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)

Mechanical engineering investigates how forces, energy and materials combine to produce functional products, ranging from engines and turbines to biomedical devices and renewable-energy systems. The Master’s curriculum builds on core topics such as heat transfer, thermodynamics, dynamics and control, aerodynamics, structural design and finite-element analysis, while also covering strategic management for engineers and integrated manufacturing systems. Throughout, theory is linked to hands-on design projects and research.

You will complete an advanced project that showcases your design competence.

Graduates are prepared for positions such as mechanical, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing or research engineer, project manager, technical consultant or specialist in sectors including energy, transport, defence and health. They meet the requirements for professional registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia and can progress to senior leadership or doctoral study.
