Mechanical Engineering for Industrial Systems (MEfIS) at RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau is a four-semester Master's programme requiring students to select one of three specialisations at the time of application. The three tracks are Industrial Drive Technology, Advanced Mechanics for Digital Engineering, and Digital Production Technologies. The Industrial Drive Technology specialisation focuses on simulating complex drive systems and developing analysis and design methods for applications from machine tools to wind power. The Advanced Mechanics for Digital Engineering track covers mechanical modelling, numerical methods, simulation of digital twins, optimisation, parameter identification, and programming. The Digital Production Technologies track addresses digital modelling, process simulation, sustainable manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 integration including digital twins. The first two semesters consist of mandatory specialisation modules and compulsory electives drawn from the other two tracks and additional modules. The third semester combines a three-month industrial internship with a project at one of the university's institutes. The fourth semester is reserved for the Master's thesis. Basic German proficiency must be demonstrated in an internal examination within one year of starting. The programme is located at RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
