About the Program

The Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering is awarded by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and is conducted in Singapore through TUM Asia. The programme provides in-depth training in aerospace engineering with a focus on aeronautical design, space design, and research. Compulsory modules cover Introduction to Aeronautics and Mechanics for Aerospace Engineers. Core modules address Aerodynamics, Introduction to Flight Mechanics, Flight Propulsion, and Structures and Materials. Lab modules include MATLAB, Aero Lab, Structural Modelling Lab, and Aerodynamic Modelling Lab. Elective modules span Advanced Flight Control Systems, Aerodynamics, Design of Turbomachines, Aeroelasticity, Aerospace Structures, Aircraft Design, Boundary Layer Theory, Helicopter Engineering, Safety and Certification of Aircraft, Safety and Certification of Avionics and Flight Control Systems, Spacecraft Technology, and Space Mission Design. Non-technical electives include Business Administration and Innovation and Technology Management. After coursework is complete, all students undertake a mandatory research internship at an industrial partner or research institution and a six-month Master's thesis. The programme runs over 4 semesters starting in the winter semester. Teaching is delivered in English by German and Singaporean lecturers. The degree is awarded by the Technical University of Munich; the programme is delivered at TUM Asia in Singapore.
